Highlights
These highlights have been specially picked for this themed itinerary:
Mae Klong Market, Bangkok
A bizarre but exciting experience, Mae Klong Market is entertaining for all the family. Whether you enjoy browsing the products on sale or not, noone can help but be intrigued when the train whistle sounds and the stall holders make a well-practiced mad dash to get their awnings and wares out of the way.
Erawan National Park
Close to the fascinating city of Kanchanaburi, known for the infamous bridge over the River Kwai, Erawan National Park is a particularly spectacular slice of nature. Within, a seven-tiered waterfall tumbles through the jungle – you can swim in its unbelievably blue waters at every level; one even has a natural slide and most have nibbling fish.
Elephant Nature Park
Run by the Save the Elephant Foundation, this nature park provides a sanctuary for elephants rescued from street begging, logging and tourism. You can interact with the elephants by helping feed and bathe them, and walking with them through the jungle. There is no better place to learn about the plight of the Asian elephant.
Kayaking, Tonle Sap
This huge expanse of water shows a completely different side of Siem Reap. Paddling out on the water you may see the communities who live in floating villages, fishermen going about their work and even the incredibly biodiverse mangrove forests that line the lake’s edges – a beautiful and educational experience for all.
