Huangshan (Yellow Mountains) has been a source of inspiration to China’s writers and painters for centuries - it is the archetypal Chinese mountain, the one we’ve all seen in traditional paintings. A granite mountain range of jagged peaks, made all the more dramatic by its swirling mists and gravity-defying pines, Huangshan’s cultural legacy makes it a popular destination with locals and visitors alike. Though it is still easy to find moments of serenity to truly enjoy your surroundings. A cable car will take you up into the peaks but once you are up there walking is the way to explore – there are plenty of walkways an steps to lead you to viewpoints and sights. Located in Anhui province, the gateway to Huangshan is Tunxi which is about 4 and a half hours by road or an hour flight from Shanghai.
At the foot of Danxia Peak at the heart of the Huangshan scenic area, the Huangshan Xihai Hotel is perfectly located to explore this spectacular park. Constructed in the Huizhou architectural style, the hotel offers modern comforts and a good range of facilities including restaurants, cafe and KTV cabins!
In the city of Tunxi, close to Huangshan, the Crowne Plaza Huangshan Yucheng offers every comfort and convenience you could need. With a wealth of amenities and spacious, modern rooms, there is also a sauna, hot tub and indoor pool to enjoy.
