Originally a duck hunting reserve in the 1850s, the Keoladeo Ghana National Park (located close to Bharatpur) is today seen as one of the world’s most important breeding and feeding grounds for birds. Located usefully close to Ranthambore National Park, about 360 different species have been spotted here. In October to February particularly the wetlands are full of migratory birds, including the rare Siberian crane. Located close to Agra, the park has been UNESCO-listed since 1985.
