Dambulla is home to a cave monastery that has been a holy place of Buddhist worship for 22 centuries. Located at the heart of the cultural triangle, within five cave sanctuaries you’ll find Sri Lanka’s most important Buddha images, in the form of murals and statues. As well as being an essential cultural visit that perfectly highlights Sri Lanka’s devotion to Buddhism, the caves are also an excellent place to enjoy some peace and tranquillity.
The Heritance Kandalama is a luxury hotel located in the middle of the cultural triangle. Surrounded by forest and situated below a granite outcrop the buildings blend seamlessly into the landscape. The hotel features a Six Senses Spa, three swimming pools and a gym.
