Highlights
These highlights have been specially picked for this themed itinerary:
Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur
One of the world’s largest private residences, the Umaid Bhawan Palace is split into three sections. Part luxury hotel, part royal abode and part museum, the palace was built by Henry Lanchester in 1928. Sat on a hill above Jodhpur, the 64 Art Deco-inspired rooms are opulent, there are two swimming pools and the service is incredibly attentive.
Samode Palace, Samode
A wonderland of a hotel, once you’ve entered the mirror-tiled hallways of the Samode Palace, you won’t want to leave. IndoSaracenic in style, this 475-year-old palace does contemporary luxury with ease, whilst the excellent service is straight out of the golden age of the Raj. Make the most of the many desert-based activities on offer.
Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur
A heritage hotel housed in the former pleasure palace of Maharana Jagat Singh II, the Taj Lake Palace floats majestically on the waters of Lake Pichola. Built in 1743 from white marble, rooms are furnished with finely-carved wood furniture and sumptuous silks whilst a private butler is on hand 24 hours a day to see to your every whim.
Ramburgh Palace, Jaipur
First a royal guesthouse, then a maharaja’s residence and now a luxury heritage hotel, the Rambagh Palace oozes opulence. Elegant rooms are draped in rich fabrics and decorated with wall motifs whilst the perfectly symmetrical ornamental gardens are ideal for a post-dinner stroll. Sit back and enjoy the hospitality of the Rajput.
