Highlights
These highlights have been specially picked for this themed itinerary:
Soba Noodle Making, Tokyo
Around Tokyo, the buckwheat soba noodle is king. In this class you will learn to create the dough, out of buckwheat and wheat flour, to roll it out and to slice it with a special soba knife. When the hard work is done you can sit down and slurp up your creation.
Okonomiyaki, Hiroshima
Said to originate from here (Osaka disagrees), Hiroshima loves okonomiyaki so much there are 2,000 restaurants dedicated to it. A savoury pancake stuffed with meat and vegetables, sit in front of the huge hot plate, pick your ingredients and watch as it is prepared before your very eyes!
Sake, Kyoto
Fushimi, a suburb of Kyoto, is well-known as a centre for sake production thanks to the area’s natural water springs. There is an excellent museum housed in a beautiful, old wooden sake warehouse where you can taste sake and plum wine, and plenty of sake stores where you can taste more.
Street Food Tour, Osaka
Let us arrange a walking tour that allows you to experience all of the culinary wonders of this city, from the restaurant mecca of Dotonburi to those spots that the locals like to keep a secret. Walk and eat, eat and walk – the very best way to explore Japan’s culinary capital.
