Nicknamed the 'Blue Pearl' of Mongolia, Lake Khovsgol itself is the centrepiece of Lake Khovsgol National Park. The lake’s waters, reaching to depths of 262 metres, are incredibly clear and full of fish. The national park also encompasses the surrounding mountains which provide plenty of beautiful alpine meadows to tramp through. This is one of Mongolia’s most pristine environments and is home to ibex, sable, moose, wolverine and over 200 species of birds. There are a number of ways to explore this beautiful area, including horse riding, speedboat and walking.
